This presentation discusses the U-value requirements of exterior opaque walls among three wall types, across three timelines and four Canadian climate zones and recommends U-values for opaque walls to achieve net-zero energy building performances.
Presented by: Dr. Yuxiang Chen, PhD, P.Eng.
Dr. Yuxiang Chen is an Associate Professor of Building Engineering in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Alberta (UofA). His research expertise is on resource-efficient buildings, focusing on thermal energy storage, utilization of renewable energy, prefabrication, and intelligent and integrated design and operation, and he holds a UofA Engineering Research Chair of Resource-Efficient Buildings for Cold Climates.
